Global Creatures presents Strictly Ballroom The Musical, based on the much-loved Australian film. Coming soon to Her Majesty’s Theatre, this brand new production has audiences dancing in the aisles in a kaleidoscope of colour and fun.

Directed by Baz Luhrmann, Strictly Ballroom The Musical features classic songs from the film including Love is in the Air and Time after Time, as well as some wonderful new songs by artists such as Eddie Perfect and Sia.

Strictly Ballroom The Musical is the inspiring story of a championship ballroom dancer who defies all the rules to follow his heart. This uplifting and courageous tale originated as a stage play that Baz Luhrmann devised with a group of students at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) back in 1984.

The cast includes Thomas Lacey and Phoebe Panaretos as Scott Hastings and Fran with Bob Baines, Drew Forsythe, Natalie Gamsu, Robert Grubb, Fernando Mira, Heather Mitchell and Mark Owen-Taylor leading an ensemble of over 40 performers.

Georges (Simon Burke) and Albin (Todd McKenney) have lived happily together for 20 years above their nightclub in St Tropez. Georges is the owner and MC, and Albin its star drag performer, Zaza.

It’s the imminent engagement of Georges’ son to the daughter of a bigoted, right-wing politician that creates the comedy and the heart-warming drama of this award winning musical. Also starring Rhonda Burchmore (Jacqueline), Marg Downey (Mde Dindon) and Gary Sweet.
