I am gutted I didn't get a chance to take more photos of this set/staging as it was absolutely stunning!

Not pictured: Tracey's upright bed truck; Triangular flats rotate to create Baltimore cityscape, Mr Pinky's Hefty Hideaway and Motormouth Maybelle's record store; Corny Collins desk truck rotates to create Maybelle's record store shelves; Big Dollhouse prison bars; Hairspray can opens to reveal Edna inside and pea-soup fog is sprayed from "nozzle".

I am stoked to be stage managing the highly talented cast and crew of Aquinas College's senior musical, Hairspray.

The 1950's are out and change is in the air! HAIRSPRAY, winner of 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical piled bouffant high with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs.

It's 1962 in Baltimore, and the lovable plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad has only one desire — to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show. When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network, all without denting her 'do!

I absolutely love Seussical the Musical, and am thrilled to be stage managing for Aquinas junior school students performing in this fantastic show.

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, our narrator the Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks". Horton's challenge is twofold: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and danger, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw

A romantic comedy about language and class set in London, 1912, Shaw’s witty play in five acts chronicles the phonetician Professor Henry Higgins and his bet to convince genteel English society that Cockney flower seller Eliza Doolittle is a well-bred duchess. This is the play that inspired the much-loved musical My Fair Lady.
